THE BLOOD CYCLE

in development

The Blood Cycle (working title) tells the story of three siblings who are trying to find a way out of a 27 year long blood feud. Inspired by the old custom of blood taking (gjakmarrja) in the Northern parts of Albania, this work in progress is also an exploration in movement with choreography by Dora Nominated William Yong

Our January workshop period featured performers Indrit Kasapi, Thomas Olajide and Arlen Aguayo Stewart. lemonTree creations will continue further development of the piece while in residency at Theatre Passe Muraille. Indrit Kasapi will also be working on the text as a member of The Foundry writers unit at Factory Theatre.

This workshop period was made possible by Ontario Arts Council's Theatre Creator's Reserve Grants recommended by Theatre Passe Muraille, Factory Theatre and Theatre Centre as well as by Canadian Stage's RBC Emerging Artist Program.
